Volunteer

Even though Steven was in business for so long he was still able to make time for others and decided that is was time to also give back something to the community. Steven helped out many other businesses by simply ordering goods from them, and he took on many staff members. Most of them where young in age, and Steven felt it was good to give these younger ones a fair go and an opportunity, both male and female.
Eventually he went on to do some more serious and established volunteer type work. He became a registered foster carer and over a 4 year period looked after over 20+ kids that needed respite care. These kids would come and stay with Steven and his then partner Debbie. Some would just come for weekends, some for months, age range 8 months to 14.
After foster care and becoming single, Steven then registered with the “Guide Dogs Association” and looked after and trained a puppy for over 12 months. Unfortunately this puppy did not make the grade and has now become Steven’s pet and is a huge part of his life.
Steven was also fortunate to have a few novelty “Hot rod” cars, which he offered to the “Make-A-Wish Foundation” to take seriously ill children out for joy rides.
More recently after Steven sold his business, he registered with “ABV –Australian Business Volunteers” and was sent overseas to Hanoi in Vietnam for 2 months to help an international company with marketing. This company hired less fortunate people and disabled women and needed more work to keep them employed.

Below are some photos of some of the volunteer work Steven has done.

Note: All photos are of the actual events and volunteer roles, for privacy reasons photos of any foster kids are not able to be displayed.
